Weaver   GAIL-RUDISILL

Gail Rudisill, a native of Montana,  is a retired Frederick County teacher
who has been working with crafts and fibers most of her life.  She began sewing
at an early age when she received a toy sewing machine from Santa Claus and
has been stitching ever since.  She has dabbled in painting, woodworking, basket
weaving, rug hooking  and various other crafts, but her real love is weaving.
She is a member of the Weaver’s Guild of Greater Baltimore and has taught
twining for the guild at the Bloomsbury Community Center.  In addition to
offering private weaving instruction,  she hosts a regular weaving study group and
belongs to several others.  She was featured on a Fox 45 Cover Story video as
the “green weaver” for her rugs made of plastic bags among her other recycled
functional pieces.  Gail has a special attraction to rugs having experimented
with rug making using many techniques such as
traditional American rug hooking, weaving,  twining,  and latch
hook using pantihose.  She lives in Middletown, Maryland.
